SolutionView 2.5.1 Release Notes
This release is about getting you through the appointment faster and leaving the homeowner with a cleaner picture. The Drawing Tool picked up new tools and a real speed boost, and the Visualizer is sharper. You now choose which drawing is the recommended one, including drawings from other projects. When a customer signs in the portal, there are fewer steps to finish the paperwork on your end. And a good chunk of this release came straight from your requests. Here's what's new.
At a glance
- Drawing Tool: several brand-new tools to dial in your drawings, plus real speed and performance gains. Measurement Display Control lets you choose which measurements the homeowner sees, right down to a single object. The Assist Tool shows exactly what you grabbed in a multi-select, in one list. The Move Tool is an arrow pad that nudges anything an exact inch, six inches, or a foot. New Zoom Tools (Lock, Box, and Fit To) help you navigate dense drawings. And the Object Panel got a fresh design: cleaner, easier to scan, faster to work in.
- Smarter inspection forms: whole sections show or hide based on what you've already answered.
- AI Visualizer: a before-and-after slider, the option to use photos you already took during the inspection, and more.
- Financing first: the monthly payment leads the project totals and the review summary, and you control how it's calculated.
- Signed in the portal, straight to the CRM: fully signed proposals go where they need to go without re-uploading.
Home & Menu
Navigation changes with Menu
- Updated Navigation: Styling changes only, same functionality as always.

Calendar
Appointment files from Salesforce
- Files from the CRM show up on the appointment: Whatever the office attaches to an appointment in Salesforce now appears on that appointment in the app. Plans, prior quotes, notes: you can look them over before you knock on the door.
In-Meeting
Start Meeting and meeting experience
This was a round of speed and polish. Everything here should just feel better.
- Start Meeting is faster and smoother: Forms get prepped before the meeting opens, so you're into the first form noticeably quicker, especially on big configurations. The Start Meeting sheet got a refresh too: clear checkmarks, section headers, and Next and Back always within reach.
- Meetings hold steady from start to finish: Less memory use across back-to-back appointments, a sturdier start when appointment data is incomplete, a fresh configuration prompt when you need one, and an appointment result status that saves every time.
- Customer portal status at a glance: A callout tells you whether the proposal has been sent, viewed, or signed, right where you're working.

Inspection Form
Show or hide whole form sections by rule
- Whole sections appear or disappear based on earlier answers (Admin setting): Not just single questions anymore. Reps see a shorter form that fits the house, and the findings and products inside a hidden section follow the same rules.
Tidier measurement values in form fields
- No more long trailing decimals: Number fields show a sensible precision (goodbye, 12.3333333) in inspection forms and Sell from Drawing, so what the customer sees looks clean.

User-experience enhancements
- What you type is what gets saved: Text finishes saving before the app moves to the next section, hidden number fields keep their zero defaults so quantities stay right, choice fields with similar option names keep the right pick every time, and that stray line under the last meeting-plan step is gone.
Drawing – Measurements & Display
Measurement text size slider
- Set any text size with a slider: Dial in any measurement text size from 8 to 48 (12 is the default) instead of picking from a few presets.
- Measurements stay readable while you zoom: Labels hold a steady on-screen size as you zoom in and out, sit closer to the line they belong to, and spread out at larger sizes so they don't pile up on each other.
- Give one object its own text size: Turn on "Override Measurement Size Display" in the Style panel to size the measurements on one object, or a whole multi-selection. Switch it off and you're back to the global size.
- Measurement text size is on by default (Admin setting): The text-size controls now show up for everyone unless a company has turned them off.

Drawing scale
- Saved drawings keep their scale: Opening an existing drawing no longer shifts or resizes what you drew. The drawing only rescales when you deliberately change the canvas size.
- Objects resize with the canvas: Change the canvas size and shapes, images, and the details attached to them scale together instead of drifting out of proportion.
Measurement rounding
- Whole-number rounding (Admin setting): New whole-foot and whole-meter precision options show round numbers instead of long decimals. Set the default precision in SolutionView Admin and every new drawing starts there.

Legend
- Legend quantities are now optional: Quantities are hidden in the legend by default for a cleaner customer-facing drawing. A setting brings them back.
Measurement Display Control
- Measurement Display Control, with help built in: A help icon explains the measurement system, display, and precision settings. Those controls now live under Show Measurements and step out of the way when measurements are off.
- Show or hide measurements per object: Choose which measurements appear, globally or object by object from the Style panel, including several objects at once.
- Measurement defaults come from proposal settings (Admin setting): Set a company-wide default measurement system, display type, and precision, and every new drawing starts there.
- Snappier measurement buttons, easier scale placement: ALL and CLEAR respond the instant you tap them, and measure-scale endpoints drag exactly where you put them, with no grid snapping.

Resize the canvas from the edges
- Grab the edge to grow or shrink the canvas: Two grab handles now sit on the canvas itself, one on the right edge and one along the bottom. Drag the right handle to make the drawing wider or narrower, and the bottom handle to make it taller or shorter. No trip into Canvas settings, and no guessing at a size: pull until the drawing fits, let go, and keep working.
Warnings for complex drawings
- A heads-up before a drawing slows down: Very dense drawings get a friendly warning before they bog down older tablets, and the Measurement Display Control lets you know when a lot of measurements are selected.

Drawing – Walls & Paths
Improvements to walls and paths
- Long-press to close a wall path: Long-press the first point of a wall path, watch the connect progress, and close the room.
- Paths close themselves at the starting point: Release the last point on top of the first and the shape closes on its own, with on-screen guidance as the two points line up.
- Clearer wall segment highlighting: Select a segment and the whole wall highlights at its real thickness. No more oversized band.
- Wall tools are on by default (Admin setting): The Wall and Wall Host Element tools now show for everyone (companies can still turn them off), and the Foundation wall preset defaults to 8 inches.

Drawing – Drawing & Editing Tools
Canvas precision & performance
- Taps land where you mean them, even mid-pan: No more accidental selections while panning or pinching, and calculator tabs and search buttons respond on the first tap.
- Move a whole selection to another layer: A layer control in the header moves every selected object at once, and makes it obvious when a selection spans more than one layer.
- Multi-select move and rotate hold steady: One clean set of handles that stays put, and a rotate icon that stays upright.
- Removing points from a line just works: Long-press a line to remove a point and the path reflows the way it should.
- Finger drawing is more accurate: Lines land where you tap, at any zoom level.
- Busy drawings stay responsive: Layouts with hundreds of objects keep up with you while you edit.
Assist Tool
- See exactly what you grabbed: Tap where objects overlap, or select a whole crowd of them, and the Assist Tool shows everything in one clear, resizable list with a running count. Tap a row to drop an object out of the selection, and tap the help icon if you're not sure what you're looking at.

Move Tool
- An arrow pad for precise placement: Nudge a selected object by an exact amount: 1 inch, 6 inches, or 1 foot (1 cm, 10 cm, or 1 m in metric). Press and hold to keep it moving.
- Faster nudging: Holding an arrow repeats more quickly, so moving something across the drawing takes less time.

Zoom Tools
Three new ways to get around a dense drawing and make precise adjustments.
- Zoom Lock: Lock the view in place so taps on objects don't turn into accidental pans or pinches. Turn it on when you're working in a crowded spot and want the canvas to hold still.
- Box Zoom: Draw a box around the area you care about and the canvas zooms straight to it, up to 40x. No more pinching your way in.
- Fit To: One tap fits the whole drawing to the screen, so you can jump back out after zooming in close.
- Zoom tools are on by default (Admin setting): All three show up for everyone without any setup. Companies can turn them off in SolutionView Admin.

Scan within the Drawing Tool
- Surface Map and Walker scan support: Room, surface, and walker scans run in one flow and turn into editable lines on the drawing. You can add a new scan to an existing drawing without losing what's already there.
Search bars
- Search the Product Checklist: Type into the search box and it matches areas, sub-areas, solutions, products, and master products, so you jump straight to what you need instead of scrolling. Shapes search works the same way.
AI Visualizer
Enhancements
- AI-generated images carry a watermark: A small "AI" mark makes it clear to the homeowner that they're looking at a rendering, not a photo of finished work.
- An angle guide when you take the photo: An on-screen guide helps you line up a consistent shot, and the results are noticeably better for it.
- Before and After in the Visualizer: Slide between the original photo and the AI result in one gesture. Compare different visualizations against each other.
- Pull inspection photos into a visualization: Reuse a photo you already took during the inspection instead of taking it again.
- Visualizations look the same in Findings: Open a visualization from the Findings section and it displays just like it does inside the Visualizer tool, so what you show the homeowner matches what you built.

Projects
New switch: lock automated quantities
- Automated quantities can't be typed over (Admin setting): Quantities calculated from inspection measurements are locked, so the proposal stays in step with what was actually measured. Products you add by hand stay fully editable.
Configuration options to highlight financing
- Financing leads the project totals (Admin setting): Where financing is available, the monthly payment shows ahead of the cash total, the way top closers already present price.
- Financing calculations you can configure (Admin setting): Set how financing is calculated on the review summary so the numbers match the lender terms you actually offer.
- Financing leads the review summary too (Admin setting): The monthly payment comes first on the review summary as well, keeping it in front of the customer.

Signatures on contract PDFs
- Sign in the app after the customer signs in the portal: Until now, once a customer signed through the portal, you had to head over to SolutionView Admin to add your signature. Now you can do it right in the app. The app no longer overwrites the PDF the customer signed. Instead, it merges your signature into that same document, and the fully signed proposal goes on to the CRM.

Discounts on the Job Info breakdown
- Discount detail on the Job Info PDF: The Job Info PDF shows which discounts were applied, so the office sees the same picture the rep saw at the table.
Company-specific photos in contract PDFs
- Product images in dynamic PDFs (Admin setting): Dynamic PDF proposals now render product and proposal images. A visual document instead of a text-only list.
Discounts that only apply to sold projects
- Sold-only discounts are cleared from unsold jobs (Admin setting): A discount that only applies when the job is sold is removed before an unsold project is submitted, so it never carries a discount it wasn't entitled to.
Fully financed project breakdown
- Fully financed plans add up correctly: When a plan covers the whole project amount, totals and payment breakdowns show a true zero balance instead of a leftover.
Recommended drawing options for PDFs
- Recommended drawing at completion (Admin setting): Mark a drawing as recommended and it carries through completion into the proposal, steering the homeowner toward the right option with a visual.

Fixes
Reported issues
Alongside everything above, 2.5.1 closes out a long list of bugs.
- Reported issues, fixed: A lot of what's in this release started as a support ticket or a note from a rep in the field. We worked through the reported issues across drawings, forms, meetings, and proposals, and the fixes are all in 2.5.1. Keep them coming. If something still isn't behaving, let us know at help.solutionview.app.
