Recommended iPadOS Devices

Highly Recommended Device
- Display Size: A larger display makes it easier to keep customers engaged during presentations. If you prefer a more portable option, the 11-inch screen offers the perfect balance of mobility and presentation visibility.
- Storage Capacity: iPad Pro models start at 128 GB and go up to 2 TB, which is more than enough for field operations. Most users utilize under 10 GB for presentation materials. Photos are typically the main driver of storage usage over time, but these can easily be offloaded or managed via cloud storage.
- Connectivity: We strongly recommend cellular-enabled models. While offline use is possible, a dedicated cellular connection allows you to seamlessly sync calendars, receive real-time updates, and process paperwork without relying on mobile hotspots.
- Performance: Powered by Apple's M-series chips (such as the M2 or newer), delivering blazing-fast speed and effortless multitasking for demanding apps.

iPad Pro 13-inch: M4 (2024).
To date, LiDAR is exclusive to the Pro line and is not available on
iPad Air, iPad mini, or standard iPad models.

Non Pro - Devices
What You Don't Get with a Non-Pro Devices
Advanced features like Room Scan and Surface Scan require a Pro-tier device equipped with LiDAR. On non-Pro models, core functions—such as drawing tools, PDF generation, and photo capture—may suffer from reduced performance and a suboptimal user experience.
Not recommended:
Devices 5 years old or older may experience severe performance degradation and lack critical iPadOS support. Outdated software exposes devices to security vulnerabilities, limits feature compatibility, and prevents access to modern capabilities like Apple Intelligence.
While SolutionView can be installed on an iPhone, it functions strictly as a companion tool. You cannot start meetings from an iPhone; mobile access is limited to viewing your calendar, checking appointment details, and accessing menu resources.
iPad Air
(Compatible with Apple Intelligence)
The current generation iPad Air, released in 2025, comes in two sizes: 11-inch and 13-inch. Both models are powered by the M2 chip, offering a significant performance boost. Storage options range from 128GB up to 1TB, providing ample space for apps, files, and media.

Caution on certain mo
iPad Air (4th Generation and older) feature smaller storage tiers and limited RAM, with earlier models (3rd Gen and prior) having already reached end-of-life (EOL) software support.
iPad (Standard)
(Not Compatible with Apple Intelligence)
Standard iPad lacks high-end features like a laminated display (meaning there's a visible air gap), high-fidelity audio, and a "Pro" camera system and LiDAR for room scan. This is a solid device for office review, app testing, or basic company configurations.
The current iPad (11th generation) features an 11-inch Liquid Retina display. It finally increased the base storage, now offering options of 128GB, 256GB, or 512GB. This model is powered by the A16 Bionic chip (the same chip found in the iPhone 15), providing a significant speed boost over previous versions.
Why do we recommend iPads over Android?
Consistency and future-proof performance. iPads provide a standardized, reliable interface across all devices, eliminating the compatibility challenges of Android’s varied OS versions. Additionally, iPad Pro models feature hardware-level LiDAR support—a key requirement for the spatial and 3D features on our product roadmap.
Printers
If you want to print from an iPad, you'll need to use AirPrint (network printing via wifi) as iPads don't support USB printing.

Recommended Accessories
There are other keyboards offered by apple and also compatible keyboards that can be found on Amazon. Those are sufficient as well, but do lack a trackpad that acts as a mouse.
With a compatible Apple Pencil, you'll be able to take advantage of 3rd-Party drawing apps with efficiencies gained. Within SolutionView, you can use a pencil to draw over text fields and use with photo annotation.
The case recommended above is our recommendation if you purchase a Magic Keyboard, since it allows you to keep the case on while using the Magic Keyboard.
If you do not purchase a Magic Keyboard, there are many options for cases that can be found on Amazon to fit your needs, many of which can be found for around the $30 range.

Screen Protector
- Tempered Glass Screen Protector: Provides maximum protection against scratches and cracks.
- Anti-Glare Screen Protector: Reduces glare and improves visibility in bright outdoor conditions.
Mounting Solutions
- Shoulder Strap: For carrying the iPad comfortably while on the go.
